Alejandro Burr

STATEMENT
My work investigates structure, color, and spatial tension through painting as a constructed field rather than a depiction. Whether rooted in landscape, still life, or abstraction, each work begins with observation but advances toward deliberate orchestration — an intentional balance of rhythm, surface, and force.
In realism, I engage territory and physical presence. In impressionistic works, gesture and chromatic vibration loosen the boundaries of form. My current focus centers on abstraction, where color operates as architecture — establishing structure, movement, and spatial tension without reliance on representation.
Across all phases of my practice, the essential concern remains constant: the equilibrium between control and release, between density and openness, between chromatic intensity and restraint. Earlier material investigations, including clay monoprints, expanded this inquiry into surface and transfer, reinforcing my interest in process as construction.
Painting, for me, is a disciplined negotiation of energy — held, directed, and resolved within the frame.
